Michael is a BS-degreed computer science professional with an MBA and 20 years' experience as senior database administrator with Northrop Grumman. He is experienced in managing object relational database (Oracle) including installing configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting and has strong working knowledge of the principles and practices of data modeling and database design. He is known for his troubleshooting technique; he calls it divide and conquer. Michael has been an 18-year member of IOUG. He has spoken at several IOUG and UTOUG conferences. His topics include: Automatic Diagnostic Repository (ADR), tuning using Oracle's partitioning, Virtual Private Databases (VPD), Oracle Context indexes, Tuning a Third-Party Tool Without Touching the code, Building a Data Warehouse on a Budget, and NT. He has been on the IOUG Collaborate conference committee, and has participated at Utah Training days as a presenter. Michael enjoys hiking, skiing, hunting, and just being in the outdoors. Michael received his BS from Utah State University and his MBA from Utah State.
